Two days up the river. Dinner ashore, a night in the countryside.
The day
We cast off from Marina de Cascais and cruise east along the coast, into the mouth of the Tejo, past Lisbon, and continue inland up the river until we reach Valada — a quiet bend of the Tejo with riverside restaurants and old country estates.
Dinner at a local restaurant we have come to trust, then a night in a turismo rural — a restored country house in the surrounding fields.
The morning belongs to the river: a slow exploration of the area before we turn the boat back toward the sea. Two days, one boat, no rush.
