Dinner Aboard!

A new way to have dinner in Cascais — on the boat, docked in the marina, with food from your favourite restaurant brought to the deck. Up to six guests, €80 a head, all in.

We are adding a new way to spend an evening with us, and we think it is going to suit a lot of you better than another restaurant booking. It is called Dinner Aboard, and the idea is exactly what it sounds like.

You come down to Marina de Cascais around 8pm. The boat is tied up in our slip — no motion, no engine, no plan to go anywhere — but it is set up for the evening. Candles, music, the table laid for six. We pour a welcome drink. By 8:30 you are seated, and dinner arrives from the restaurant you chose: meat, seafood, or sushi from one of the marina's best kitchens. We handle the drinks, the music, and the few small details that make a long table feel right. You handle the conversation.

That is the whole format. A private space, in one of the most beautiful corners of the coast, for the people you actually want to share a long dinner with.

Why on a boat, and why docked.

Restaurants in Cascais are good — that is not the problem. The problem is that a good restaurant is not a private space. The next table is close. The room has its own pace. A celebration that wants to slow down and sprawl a little eventually has to leave.

Dinner Aboard fixes that without asking anyone to learn their sea legs. We stay tied up, so the deck is as steady as a terrace. Nobody worries about motion sickness. The marina at night is one of the best views in town — Cascais bay on one side, the lights of the village on the other, the hum of the harbour as background. And the boat is yours for the evening. Stay as long as you like.

Who it is for.

A few obvious ones:

  • An anniversary or birthday for two to six. Quieter than a restaurant. More personal than a hotel dining room. Easier to make beautiful.
  • A small group of friends visiting Cascais. The dinner you'll talk about for the rest of the trip.
  • A family celebration. Parents, grandparents, the people who matter. No competing music, no rushed waiters.
  • A discreet business dinner. Six people, no other tables within earshot, the harbour as backdrop.
  • A rehearsal dinner the night before a wedding in Cascais, Sintra or Lisbon.

If you've spent any time looking for private dining in Cascais and felt like you were either getting a corner of a busy restaurant or paying for a whole event venue you did not need, this is the middle ground that did not exist before.

How it works.

  • Up to 6 guests. No more, no less — and the whole boat is yours.
  • Arrive at 8pm, welcome drink on the deck.
  • Sit down at 8:30, dinner served.
  • Food from a marina restaurant of your choice — meat, seafood or sushi. Menus are being finalised; for now, and we will walk you through what each restaurant can do for the evening you have in mind.
  • Drinks all evening, candles, onboard music, professional crew, all included.
  • €80 per guest, all-in. No surprises, no service charges layered on at the end.

How to book.

Same as everything else — the fastest way is to with the date you have in mind and which kind of food you'd lean toward. We come back within a few hours with availability, the menu options, and the small details. We are taking bookings for evenings throughout the summer.

If you'd like to see the full setup before you decide, the Dinner Aboard experience page has the rest.

See you at the marina.
