The middle of summer.

July 15 — the exact centre of summer on the Cascais coast. The warmest water, the longest days, the calmest sea. If you have been waiting for the moment, this is it.

Today marks the middle of summer. Halfway between the first warm days of June and the soft light of September, the Cascais coast reaches the point it has been building toward all year — the water at its warmest, the days at their longest, the sea at its calmest. If there is a single week to be out on a boat, it is this one.

So consider this your reminder: the season does not get better than right now.

Why mid-July is peak season in Cascais

The sea takes its time to warm, and by the middle of July it finally catches up with the air. Swims that felt bracing in June are effortless now. High summer settles the coast into its steadiest rhythm — glassy mornings, a gentle afternoon breeze, and long golden evenings that stretch well past dinner. The coves toward Guincho and the anchorages below the Sintra hills are as clear as they get all year.

It is also, quietly, the best time to step off the crowded shore. A private boat trip from Marina de Cascais trades the packed midsummer beaches for your own bay, your own group, and the whole coastline to yourselves.

Make the most of the longest days

With this much daylight, you can shape a day almost any way you like. A few that suit the middle of summer:

  • A morning on the coast. Cast off early while the water is still like glass, anchor for a swim before the breeze fills in, and be back in town for lunch. Our coastal cruise out of Cascais runs in two, three or four-hour shapes.
  • A full day west and beyond. For the long version, Cascais to Lisbon takes you past the cliffs of Sintra and into the Tagus — Belém, the bridge, the Christ statue — with lunch onboard or in town on the way back.
  • An evening for the golden hour. Midsummer sunsets over the Atlantic are the reason people move here. Time a coastal charter for the end of the day, cut the engine as the light drops, and watch the coast turn copper.

Room for the whole group

The middle of summer is when everyone finally makes it to Portugal at the same time — birthdays, reunions, friends in from abroad. For a bigger group, our Catamaran gives everyone space to spread out, swim and lounge on a boat built to sit flat and steady all day. And if your day does not fit any of the standard shapes, a tailor-made experience is exactly that — tell us the occasion and we build the day around it.

Whichever you choose, it is always private. One group, one day, up to six guests on the motor boat, captain and fuel included.

Book your midsummer day

The best dates in July go fast, and the middle of the month is the busiest stretch of the season. If you have a day in mind — a morning swim, a full coastal run, an evening at golden hour — the fastest way to start is to tell us your dates. You will hear back from Miguel directly, usually within a few hours, with availability and a plan shaped around your day.

The water is warm and the coast is at its best. See you out there.
